What LitBuy charges to ship to Germany, France, the US and the UK, line by line

Checked and updated .

Short answer: LitBuy's estimator quoted €24.12 ($27.10) for 1 kg to Germany on its cheapest line, LIT-Economy-DHL-DE, on 19 October 2026, with €16.81 at 500 g and €38.75 at 2 kg. The price is a weight fee, fuel surcharge, per-parcel operation fee and a €3 EU prepayment. After 25 October add €2 per EU parcel. Volumetric weight can lift a light box a price step.

Germany first: all nine lines at 500 g, 1 kg and 2 kg

LitBuy's estimator quoted €24.12 ($27.10) for 1,000 g to Germany on LIT-Economy-DHL-DE on 19 October 2026. That is the cheapest of nine lines, each priced by destination and weight only. These are list prices, meaning before the new-user promotion. We ran the estimator for 500 g, 1 kg and 2 kg, not logged in, for general goods, and copied every cell below.

Eight lines are "Tax free", which in LitBuy's Shipping Policy means LitBuy handles customs, duties and VAT. Only HF-EMS-DE says "Duties Payable by Recipient"; at €44.05 for 1 kg it costs €19.93 more than the cheapest line and takes 12–25 working days. Days are LitBuy's working-day range; the delivery-time page adds the warehouse stages.

For one kilo to Germany the cheapest line is €24.12, and the next three are within €1.72 of it.

Versandkosten nach Deutschland: what the German numbers tell you

On LIT-Economy-DHL-DE the price rises by €7.31 from 500 g to 1 kg, then by €14.63 for the second kilo. That is a straight line: roughly €9.50 fixed plus €14.63 per kilo (our arithmetic, not a LitBuy statement). The fixed part makes light parcels dear: €33.62 per kg at 500 g, €24.12 at 1 kg, €19.38 at 2 kg.

So a second hoodie in the same parcel costs far less than the first. The cheapest line's size limit is 60 × 50 × 40 cm; the Germany page has the DHL and DPD detail and the customs page the tax rules.

Pack to the kilo, not to the item: the fixed part is paid once per parcel.

Why is LitBuy shipping so expensive? The 1 kg fee breakdown

Because the price is four charges added together and only one is weight. The estimator's API splits the 1 kg quote into a weight fee, a fuel surcharge, an operation fee and, on EU tax-free lines, a ¥24 prepayment. We converted the first three pro rata to the €21.12 left after LitBuy's flat €3.

LIT-Economy-DHL-DE at 1 kg: the €24.12 split

Weight fee (¥93.10)€12.81

Fuel surcharge (¥49.40)€6.80

Operation fee (¥11.02)€1.51

EU prepayment (¥24.00, LitBuy's flat €3)€3.00

Quote as shown (¥177.52)€24.12

Fuel is the surprise: ¥49.40 is 27.8% of the ¥177.52 total and 53% of the weight fee. On French DHL lines it is worse: SSF-DHL-FR-1 carries ¥114.00 of fuel, 45.7% of its ¥249.72 total, against 27.1% on LIT-Quickly-GOFO-FR.

Why the price differs between lines: 1 kg fee parts in yuan (estimator, 19 October 2026)
LineWeight feeFuelOperationEU prepayTotal
LIT-Economy-DHL-DE (DE)¥93.10¥49.40¥11.02¥24.00¥177.52
SSF-DHL-FR-1 (FR)¥100.70¥114.00¥11.02¥24.00¥249.72
FF-Royalmail-GB-1 (UK)¥87.40¥29.45¥10.53none¥127.38

The operation fee (¥10.53 to ¥12.65 on lines we read) looks like the "about ¥10" declaration cost in the help centre. LitBuy says it charges nothing beyond goods, international shipping and customs, so the explanation sits in the fuel surcharge and a per-parcel base, both visible in the breakdown. The fees page covers the rest.

Fuel plus a fixed base explain the price; the weight fee alone is only 52% of the DE quote.

Volumetric weight: divisor 8000 against 6000 with a real box

Chargeable weight is the greater of actual weight and length × width × height ÷ divisor. LitBuy's estimator lists 8000 on most tax-free DHL, GOFO and Royal Mail lines, 6000 on EMS, ETK, EUB and some USPS and DPD lines, and 5000 on ZD-HKUPS-US-1. A smaller divisor makes the same box heavier.

One box, two divisors (assumed example: a 0.9 kg pair of trainers repacked into a 30 × 20 × 15 cm box)

Box volume30 × 20 × 15 = 9,000 cm³

Volumetric weight on a divisor-8000 line9,000 ÷ 8,000 = 1.125 kg

Volumetric weight on a divisor-6000 line9,000 ÷ 6,000 = 1.500 kg

Assumed actual weight0.900 kg

Chargeable weight (greater of the two)1.125 kg on 8000, 1.500 kg on 6000

What the box costs on two Germany lines (interpolated)

LIT-Economy-DHL-DE, 1 kg quote€24.12

LIT-Economy-DHL-DE, 2 kg quote€38.75

Interpolated for 1.125 kg (an eighth of the way up)about €25.95

HF-EMS-DE (6000), interpolated for 1.5 kgabout €53.00

Extra over the 1 kg quote on the DHL lineabout €1.83

The box and the 0.9 kg are assumed for this example. The point is the step: a parcel under a kilo can be billed above it. LitBuy prepays on estimated weight and recalculates after packing; an overpayment goes back to the LitBuy wallet within 72 hours of shipping, a shortfall must be paid. To know the real figure first, use the rehearsal parcel (¥20).

Check the divisor on the line you pick; the same box is 0.375 kg heavier on a 6000 line.

List price, promo price and the €2 fee from 25 October

The estimator also shows a lower figure while LitBuy runs its "Sign Up & Get 40% OFF Shipping Coupon" banner. The cut is not 40% of the total. On LIT-Economy-DHL-DE it is 17.3% at 500 g, 24.2% at 1 kg and 30.1% at 2 kg.

2 kg€38.75 ($43.53)€27.07 ($30.40)30.1%

LitBuy does not publish which fee parts the coupon touches; a Trustpilot reviewer on 18 September 2026 reported support saying fuel, handling and service fees are excluded, which fits the pattern. Plan with the list price; the coupon page has the rules.

The second change is a fee. LitBuy announced on 18 October 2026 that every parcel submitted after 14:00 Beijing time on 25 October 2026 is charged €2 for EU customs processing, which LitBuy pays to customs. The €3 prepayment is already inside the EU tax-free quotes, so do not add it twice.

Frais de port vers la France, then the US and the UK

For France, the cheapest line is LIT-Quickly-GOFO-FR at €23.75 ($26.68) for 1 kg, 10–15 working days, tax free. DHL lines start at €35.47 because of the fuel charge above.

In the US, HM-EUB-US-1 undercuts the USPS lines but says "Duties Payable by Recipient". See the France, US and UK pages for line notes.

In dollars at 1 kg France matches Germany, the UK is about 17% cheaper and the US about 38% dearer.

Turn a quote into a haul price

Enter your weight in the shipping calculator, which holds these quotes and the €2 fee, or fill in the haul planner CSV. Carrier prices change, so re-run LitBuy's estimator before you pay, and pay per order. With a LitBuy spreadsheet, add up item weights first.

A quote is a ceiling for a known weight, not a promise for a guessed one.

Shipping cost questions from buyers in Germany and beyond

How much is LitBuy shipping to Germany per kilo?

On 19 October 2026 LitBuy's estimator quoted €24.12 ($27.10) for 1,000 g on LIT-Economy-DHL-DE, the cheapest list price of nine lines. A 500 g parcel was €16.81 and 2 kg €38.75. These include LitBuy's flat €3 EU prepayment; add €2 per parcel for parcels submitted after 25 October 2026, making 1 kg €26.12.

Why does a 500 g parcel cost so much more per kilo?

Roughly €9.50 of the price is a fixed base that does not grow with weight, based on our straight-line fit of the three Germany quotes for LIT-Economy-DHL-DE. At 500 g that works out at €33.62 per kilo, against €19.38 per kilo at 2 kg. Combining items pays the base once.

Is the coupon price or the list price the real shipping cost?

Plan with the list price. LitBuy's estimator showed €18.29 instead of €24.12 for 1 kg to Germany while the 40% new-user banner ran, a 24.2% cut rather than 40%. LitBuy does not publish which fee parts the coupon covers, and a Trustpilot reviewer reported fuel and handling being excluded. Treat a coupon as a bonus.

What is the volumetric divisor and which lines use 6000?

It is the number your box volume in cubic centimetres is divided by to get volumetric weight. Most tax-free DHL, GOFO and Royal Mail lines use 8000; EMS, ETK and EUB lines use 6000. A 30 × 20 × 15 cm box is 1.125 kg at 8000 but 1.5 kg at 6000, and you pay for the heavier figure.

Does the €3 EU prepayment come on top of the quote?

No. On EU tax-free lines the estimator's price already contains a ¥24 prepayment, which is LitBuy's flat €3 per parcel. Only the new €2 handling fee for parcels submitted after 14:00 Beijing time on 25 October 2026 is extra. EMS lines have no prepayment; the recipient pays duties on delivery.
