Light rows, awkward boxes: what accessories do to a parcel
Caps, sunglasses, belts and small bags weigh little, so the sheet's euro price tempts you to treat them as free to ship. They are not free, because LitBuy bills each parcel as a whole and adds a fixed part: on the estimator's breakdown for 1,000 g to Germany, an operation fee of ¥11.02 and a ¥24 EU prepayment sit inside the €24.12 quote. Accessories therefore work best as fillers around a heavier row, and badly as parcels of their own. The LitBuy spreadsheet overview explains the basics of reading a row.
We have no measured weights for any accessory. The table gives round, assumed numbers next to the checks worth doing on each type.
| Row | Assumed weight | Damage risk | Photo to request (¥1) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cap | 0.1 kg | Crushed brim, bent shape | Brim and inside band |
| Sunglasses with case | 0.15 kg | Scratched lens, bent hinge | Lens and hinge close-up |
| Belt | 0.15 kg | Buckle scratches | Buckle and hole spacing |
| Small bag | 0.6 kg | Hardware, stitching | Zip pulls and inside |
| Backpack | 1.0 kg | Bulk more than weight | Flat-laid with tape measure |
Treat accessories as fillers for a box, not as cheap parcels.
Caps and the packaging complaint
A Trustpilot reviewer from Germany said on 1 September 2026 that caps arrived crushed because of thin packaging. It is one review, not a measured rate, and LitBuy's Trustpilot page on 19 October 2026 showed 587 reviews with the rating withheld and a note that Trustpilot had removed reviews it judged not genuine. We cannot say how common the problem is. The mechanism is clear enough, though. LitBuy's inspection page says it removes the original express box and repacks items in LitBuy self-sealing bags, keeping boxes only for fragile or oversized items "subject to actual operation". A cap in a soft bag at the bottom of a heavy parcel can bend.
LitBuy lists a Packing & Reinforcement service, shown at about ¥10 per item plus materials, where materials were advertised as free for a limited period. Its interface warns that extra packaging can raise weight and shipping costs. You may also ask support, through a ticket, whether the warehouse can keep the original box or place the cap on top. We found no LitBuy promise that it will. For a ¥89 cap, ¥10 is about €1.20, so the service is cheap next to a ruined cap.
Look at the routine photos for shape before you ship, because after packing nobody sees the inside until you open the box. The QC page shows how to request a close-up.
Protect the cap row before packing, because the box is sealed after.
Sunglasses, belts, bags and what LitBuy's inspection sees
LitBuy's inspectors verify quantity, colour, size and other specifications, and check for visible damage. They do not test strength, lens quality or function. For sunglasses and glasses that means scratches may show in a photo but optical quality will not. For belts, size is the hole spacing and length rather than a label, so a tape measure photo is useful. For bags, the checks that matter are zip pulls, stitching at strap anchors and the inside lining.
Items with batteries, liquids or lotions can be removed from a parcel, per LitBuy's disclaimer, so smart glasses and anything electronic belong on our electronics page. Watches, which carry batteries, are covered on the watches page. Sunglasses cases add volume but little weight, so ask for the case to ride in the box.
Photos catch scratches and loose stitching; nothing at LitBuy tests strength or lens quality.
Size limits per line for bags and backpacks
Weight rarely stops an accessory parcel; size can. LitBuy's estimator lists a maximum box per line, and a backpack is the item most likely to reach it. A backpack packed to 45 × 30 × 15 cm is 20,250 cm³, which is 2.53 kg by volume at the usual 8,000 divisor, much more than its assumed 1.0 kg.
| Market | Line | Size limit (cm) | 1 kg list price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Germany | LIT-Economy-DHL-DE | 60 × 50 × 40 | €24.12 ($27.10) |
| Germany | JSF-DHL-DE-1 | 120 × 60 × 60 | €25.84 ($29.03) |
| Germany | XB-DHL-DE-1 | 45 × 45 × 35 | €37.81 ($42.48) |
| France | LIT-Quickly-GOFO-FR | 60 × 40 × 40 | €23.75 ($26.68) |
| United States | FF-GOFO-US-2 | listed as 40 and 80 | $37.41 |
| United Kingdom | FF-Royalmail-GB-1 | 60 × 45 × 45 | £16.87 ($22.49) |
The US line shows only two numbers in the estimator data, and we could not tell which dimension each refers to, so read its limit on the estimator page itself. The LitBuy shipping cost page has the quote tables for each market.
Check the line's size limit before a backpack row goes on your list.
Worked example: four accessories in one 1 kg parcel
Assume a cap at ¥89, sunglasses at ¥129, a belt at ¥59 and a small bag at ¥199, with the assumed weights above, which total 1.0 kg. Assume the box measures 30 × 22 × 12 cm, which is 7,920 cm³ or 0.99 kg volumetric at 8,000, so the 1,000 g quote applies. Conversion is ¥1 ≈ €0.12. The quote is LitBuy's list price for LIT-Economy-DHL-DE to Germany on 19 October 2026; the €2 fee is added after LitBuy's cut-off of 14:00 Beijing time on 25 October 2026.
Four accessories to Germany, one parcel (hypothetical)
Cap, ¥89€10.68
Sunglasses, ¥129€15.48
Belt, ¥59€7.08
Small bag, ¥199€23.88
Shipping, 1,000 g quote€24.12 ($27.10)
EU handling fee€2.00
Cap reinforcement, ¥10€1.20
Total delivered€84.44
The items come to €57.12, shipping and fee €26.12 and, with the optional ¥10 reinforcement, €84.44 in all. Sharing shipping by weight puts €2.61 on the cap, €3.92 each on the sunglasses and belt and €15.67 on the bag. The cap, the item we worried about, carries less than three euros of freight, so the €1.20 reinforcement is a sensible spend. Our haul planner CSV does this split automatically.
Four rows in one box cost €84.44, and the cap's share of freight is €2.61.
Returns, storage and the 500 g question
If a belt has the wrong length or a bag arrives marked, the clock is short. LitBuy accepts a return request within 5 days (120 hours) of the item being stored, if the seller offers returns, the item is resalable and any tags are still attached. Returning an item unconditionally costs carriage both ways plus a ¥5 fee, about €0.60. Details are on the LitBuy returns page. Free storage lasts 90 days per item, so accessories can wait for a heavier row, but overdue storage is charged at 0.2% of the price paid per day with a ¥1 minimum.
The 500 g quote is the one that matters if you ship accessories alone. On 19 October 2026 it was €16.81 ($18.89) to Germany, €16.44 to France ($18.47 for LIT-Quickly-GOFO-FR), $23.16 to the US and £11.08 to the UK on the cheapest tax-free lines, before the €2 fee on EU parcels. A parcel that small only makes sense when a row is time-sensitive. Otherwise, wait until the weights in your sheet reach one kilo; the calculator shows how little the next 500 g adds compared with the first.
Hold small rows until they fill a kilo, and return within five days if they fail.
Before you ship: a short routine
- Open the routine photos and check the cap's shape and the belt's buckle.
- Request ¥1 close-ups where the table says to.
- Run a rehearsal parcel (¥20, about €2.40) if the box is near a quote step. It shows weight and size before you pay.
- Ship within the 90 free storage days, per item.
Pay per order: pay as each order and parcel is placed. Without a LitBuy login, you can scan our WhatsApp QR via the contact page for a delivered quote plus dispatch photos, paid per order. For heavier rows to pair with accessories, see the jackets page.
A short routine before packing saves the one row that cannot be repacked.
Questions buyers ask
Why do some caps arrive crushed from LitBuy?
One Trustpilot reviewer in Germany reported crushed caps from thin packaging on 1 September 2026. LitBuy's inspection page says it removes the original courier box and repacks items in self-sealing bags, keeping the box only for fragile or oversized goods. A cap is neither, so ask support in a ticket about packing, and consider the reinforcement service, shown at about ¥10 per item plus materials.
Is a single cap worth shipping alone from LitBuy?
Rarely. A hypothetical ¥89 cap costs about €10.68 at ¥1 ≈ €0.12. Shipping it alone at the 500 g quote of €16.81 to Germany on 19 October 2026, plus the €2 fee, adds €18.81, so freight is about 64% of the €29.49 total. Adding a belt and sunglasses to the same box spreads those fixed costs over three rows.
Can I ship sunglasses and glasses through LitBuy?
The prohibited list we read on 19 October 2026 did not name ordinary glasses, but LitBuy may remove items with batteries or liquids, and its inspection does not test function. For sunglasses it checks count, colour, size and visible damage. Ask for a ¥1 close-up of the lens and hinge, and use a hard case in the order note.
What size limits apply to a backpack or bag?
It depends on the line. LIT-Economy-DHL-DE allowed 60 × 50 × 40 cm on 19 October 2026, so a backpack packed to 45 × 30 × 15 cm fits, but volumetric weight is 2.53 kg on an 8,000 divisor. JSF-DHL-DE-1 allows 120 × 60 × 60 cm, while XB-DHL-DE-1 allows only 45 × 45 × 35 cm.
How many custom photos should I request for bags and belts?
Three is enough for most rows: hardware, stitching at the strap or buckle, and the inside. At ¥1 each that is ¥3, about €0.36, against a routine set of 3–6 photos taken from the front, back and side or logo. LitBuy does not test strength, so photos are the only check before shipping.
Does the shipping line change for accessories to France, the US or the UK?
Only the size limit and price do. On 19 October 2026 the cheapest tax-free line to France, LIT-Quickly-GOFO-FR, allowed 60 × 40 × 40 cm and quoted €23.75 at 1 kg. The UK line FF-Royalmail-GB-1 allowed 60 × 45 × 45 cm at £16.87, and the US line FF-GOFO-US-2 quoted $37.41. Check the limit before you add a large bag.
