What we could and could not read on 19 October 2026
On 19 October 2026 our scripted browser opened iTaoBuy's homepage, which redirected to a login page that read "Shop Your Finds, From China to the Rest. All Data Will Be Encrypted". The site responds, so the label is Open, and nothing credible suggests a shutdown. It also means every fee and storage figure below comes from our earlier reading of the Terms on 5 to 6 October 2026, not from that day.

iTaoBuy is Open but opaque from outside; its fee clause is the one number we have.
The 10% clause: where it bites and where it does not
Section 8.3 of the Terms, as we read it, names three places for the 10% technical service fee: when you fund the account, when you pay for an order and when you pay international freight. Our notes do not say whether the three stack, and the homepage hid any fee table that could settle it. Treat the safe reading as 10% on goods and 10% on whatever freight figure its estimator shows.
LitBuy takes the opposite stance. Its help centre promises no charges beyond goods, international shipping and customs, and its estimator folds a ¥10 to ¥13 operation fee into each parcel quote. It also says third-party payment processors charge their own handling fee, which is not published per channel.
| Agent | Fee on goods | About in euros |
|---|---|---|
| iTaoBuy, if 10% applies | ¥32.90 | €3.95 |
| LitBuy | ¥0 | €0.00 |
The goods fee is modest. The unknown is freight: 10% of a shipping total grows with the parcel, so ask support in writing what the German total looks like for your weight before funding anything. Our LitBuy fees page shows the LitBuy lines for comparison.
Read the 10% as a floor on goods, and as an open question on freight.
Link swap: iTaoBuy wants the whole marketplace address
This is the biggest difference in practice. LitBuy needs two small values, a platform code and an item number, in https://www.litbuy.com/product/<code>/<id> (the digit tags the marketplace, from 0 for 1688 up to 3 for JD). Our earlier notes record iTaoBuy as itaobuy.com/product-detail?url=<encoded>, where the value is the complete marketplace link with its punctuation encoded. We did not re-test that pattern.
- Rebuild the original link from the LitBuy code and number:
1and972753749417givehttps://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=972753749417. - Encode it, which turns the colon, slashes, question mark and equals sign into percent codes:
https%3A%2F%2Fitem.taobao.com%2Fitem.htm%3Fid%3D972753749417. - Append it after
url=. - Or skip the encoding and paste the plain marketplace link after you log in.
Use the LitBuy link converter for the LitBuy end of the journey, and the LitBuy links guide explains the codes.
Keep the full marketplace link, because iTaoBuy's address is built from it, not from the item number.
Storage that ends in destruction on both sides
iTaoBuy's rule, in our 6 October 2026 reading, runs 90 days from the moment an item is marked Stored and destroys it 30 days after that. We recorded no overdue price for the middle stretch. LitBuy publishes the whole rule: 90 free days, a daily fee of 0.2% of price with a ¥1 floor, a ¥300 monthly cap per item, reminders 7 and 3 days ahead and on expiry, and disposal when fees go unpaid past 30 days.
For an assumed ¥329 item the LitBuy minimum applies, since 0.2% is only ¥0.66, so a month past day 90 costs ¥30, about €3.60. Both agents therefore end at about 120 days. The difference is that LitBuy's price is written down, and iTaoBuy's, for us, is not.
Plan to ship either agent's items before day 90; neither is a place to store things.
iTaoBuy against LitBuy in one view
| Topic | LitBuy | iTaoBuy |
|---|---|---|
| Agent fee | Nil beyond goods, shipping and customs | 10% technical service fee |
| Parcel-level fee | ¥10 to ¥13 inside quotes | Not recorded |
| Free storage | 90 days, daily charge to day 120 | 90 days, destroyed 30 days later |
| Routine photos | 3 to 6; extras ¥1 | Not recorded |
| Rehearsal parcel | ¥20 fixed | Not checked |
| Payments | Cards, PayPal, Klarna, mobile wallets | Not recorded |
| EU customs | Flat €3 in the price, €2 for later parcels | Nothing read |
| Company | LITBUY LIMITED, Coventry; UK no. 16786295 | UK no. 16174547, London |
Both agents are registered in the UK according to our notes, though LitBuy's own documents also point to a French company, Chinese law for forwarding and a Hong Kong app developer. A UK registration number is a starting point for questions, not a quality mark.
LitBuy states a lower fee; iTaoBuy states more than it shows.
Spain and Italy first, Germany third, and what a test costs
Semrush's September 2026 export gives itaobuy about 12,000 monthly searches worldwide. Spain leads with 2,900, then Italy at 2,400, Germany at 1,900, the US at 1,600 and France at 1,300; Britain is not on its top list. LitBuy drew about 22,200 German searches, so iTaoBuy is under a tenth of that in Germany. For a Spanish or Italian sheet the link may already point at iTaoBuy.
Assumed order: ¥329 trainers in the box, assumed 0.9 kg
Goods at ¥1 ≈ €0.12 (about)€39.48
LitBuy 1 kg band to Germany, list price€24.12
Fixed EU €2 handling€2.00
Whole order at LitBuy, before coupons€65.60
LitBuy's estimator quoted that €24.12 ($27.10) on LIT-Economy-DHL-DE on 19 October 2026. For iTaoBuy we have no shipping rate; add 10% of the goods and 10% of its freight figure, then compare with €65.60. Pay per order, and see the agents hub, the USFans page for another unclear fee, and the LitBuy spreadsheet for the starting list.
Unless iTaoBuy's total beats €65.60 even with its fee, keep the row in LitBuy.
iTaoBuy questions from LitBuy sheet readers
What exactly does iTaoBuy's 10% technical service fee cover?
Per section 8.3 of its Terms (our 6 October 2026 reading), it applies to funding the account, to order payment and to international freight. We could not see a fee table on 19 October 2026 because the homepage redirected to a login. On an assumed ¥329 order, 10% of the goods is ¥32.90, about €3.95. Ask whether freight carries it too.
Why could we not check iTaoBuy's terms on 19 October 2026?
Its homepage redirected to a login page reading "Shop Your Finds, From China to the Rest" with a note that data is encrypted. A headless browser sees nothing beyond that. The fee, storage and company facts on this page are therefore from our readings of 5 to 6 October 2026, and we have marked them that way.
How do iTaoBuy product links differ from LitBuy's?
LitBuy uses a platform code and an item number: litbuy.com/product/1/972753749417 for a Taobao item. Our notes record iTaoBuy as itaobuy.com/product-detail?url= followed by the whole marketplace link, URL-encoded. So you need the full original address, not just the number. We did not re-test the pattern on 19 October 2026, so check the page that opens.
Does iTaoBuy keep items longer than LitBuy?
Not by our notes. iTaoBuy counts 90 days from the item being stored and destroys it 30 days later, which also reaches 120 days. LitBuy keeps 90 free days, then bills a ¥1 daily minimum per item, and discards items whose fees stay unpaid for another 30 days. We recorded no overdue price for iTaoBuy, so ask before relying on it.
Is iTaoBuy popular with German buyers?
Moderately. Semrush's September 2026 figures show about 1,900 monthly searches in Germany, its third-largest market after Spain at 2,900 and Italy at 2,400. That is about 9% of the 22,200 German searches LitBuy drew. Britain is not one of its top markets. Search volume shows interest, not service quality, so test with one cheap order.
Who runs iTaoBuy, and is that reassuring?
Our notes name Sell Good Things Technology Co., Limited, a UK company numbered 16174547 with a London address. A registered UK company means there is a legal entity to write to. It says nothing about service quality, and LitBuy's own documents also span several jurisdictions, so judge both on how they treat a real order.
